Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi, founder of indivHR, talks about the current trends in IT recruiting, the demand for IT talent and the most sought-after jobs in the industry.

Demand for IT talent

Moderator: Mrs Zeiner-Szentkiralyi, thank you very much for taking the time for this interview. The IT sector is in a constant state of flux. Could you start by giving us an overview of which IT jobs are currently most in demand?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: I'm delighted to be here. In fact, we are experiencing an ever-increasing demand in the IT sector for specialists who are familiar with various technological areas. Experts in artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) are currently at the top of the list. Companies are increasingly relying on automated processes and data-driven decisions, which is why AI and ML specialists are in demand to develop algorithms that can recognise patterns in large data sets.

Moderator: That sounds exciting. Could you give us a real-life example to illustrate this demand for IT talent?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: Of course. A large retailer we recently supported was looking for an AI expert to develop a personalised recommendation system for their online platform. The expert not only needed to have technical knowledge in AI and ML, but also be able to understand the company's business goals and customise the algorithms accordingly.

Moderator: This shows how important the connection between technology and business strategy is. Are there any other areas where the demand for IT talent is particularly high?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: Absolutely. Another area that is growing rapidly is cyber security. With cyber threats on the rise, companies are increasingly looking for specialists who can protect their systems and data from attacks. One example of this is a bank that was looking for an experienced cybersecurity expert to keep its customer and financial data safe.

Moderator: The topic of security is undoubtedly very important. Are there any other areas that are particularly in demand in the IT sector at the moment?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: Yes, definitely. Cloud technology has become a central element of many organisations and therefore the demand for cloud architects and DevOps experts is increasing. An example is one of our customers, a software company that wants to migrate its applications to the cloud to ensure scalability and flexibility.

Moderator: These are really diverse areas. In view of this demand for IT talent, what challenges do you see in IT recruiting?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: One of the biggest challenges is identifying and attracting the right talent. Competition in the IT industry is intense and qualified professionals are often spoilt for choice. It's not just about technical skills, but also about cultural fit and the candidate's ability to develop in a dynamic environment.

Moderator: How do you deal with these challenges at indivHR?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: We rely on a customised approach. Every organisation has its own requirements and culture. We work closely with our clients to understand their needs and find suitable candidates. We use our extensive network, AI and many years of expertise in IT recruiting.

Moderator: That sounds like an effective approach. Finally, could you give us some interesting statistics or facts about the current situation on the IT labour market?

Ilka Zeiner-Szentkiralyi: Gladly. According to a study by LinkedIn, the demand for IT specialists rose by 45% last year. At the same time, 72% of the companies surveyed had difficulties filling open IT positions, which illustrates the intensity of competition on the market.
